Theme for the competitions: "Capturing the Fire in Your Art"
Amateur Artist Competition
The following are the rules for this category:
Artists may choose to work in any material of their choice. Mixed media is acceptable. Suggestions are for sculpting, painting with watercolors or acrylics, pencil crayons, etc.
Artists may prep their piece of art in advance with necessary materials. Sketches may be in beginning stage of completion. Blank canvas is acceptable.
Ideas may come from pictures, technology, models, or personal inspirations, but must be original art.
Artists must provide their own materials. Only table and chair will be provided for you.
Artists may set up beginning at 10:00 p.m. on the day of the event- Sept 25
Timed event will be up to, but not to exceed 6 hours. Start time is at 11:00 a.m. and end time is 5:00 p.m.
Location will be the Frankenmuth Farmers Market, 534 N. Main Street
Entry fee is $20, $10 for students grade 12 and younger, if registering before September 15. After September 15, the cost is $25 and $15, respectively.
Exhibition Showing, Competition and Sale of Art
Guests may stroll while the artist is working or may view art at the end of the event.
The artist may post their artwork for sale and be responsible for naming the price.
FAC will handle the sale and receive 30% of the proceeds. Checks for 70% of the sale will be mailed to artist by the 10th of the next month.
There will be a jury of three judges to select Best of Show. Winner receives $100!
Professional Artist Competition
The following are the rules for this category:
Artists may choose to work in any material of their choice. Mixed media is acceptable.
Entry fee is $20 if registering before September 15. After September 15, the cost is $25.
Work is to be delivered to us by September 20 with details to be announced later.
Exhibition Showing, Competition and Sale of Art
The artist must make their artwork available for sale and be responsible for naming the price.
FAC will handle the sale and receive 30% of the proceeds. Checks for 70% of the sale will be mailed to artist on the month following the sale.
There will be a jury of three judges to select Best of Show. The winner will receive $250.
